OHS Consultancy and Management Minimize

All organizations, regardless of size, that employ either full time, casual, part time or contractors are required to comply with the NSW OHS Act 2000 and NSW OHS Regulation 2001. In order to comply with the performance based legislation it is imperative to develop an OHS Management system that also assists in the systematic method of risk management.

The OHS Management system or sections of the system, which could be developed by Safety Procedures Australasia, would be benchmarked against the Australian Standards in OHS Management Systems (AS⁄NZS 4804:2001).

In order to show “Duty of Care” and “Due Diligence” not only for statutory legislation but also Common law by the organisation, a systematic and strategic OHS Management System needs to be developed to manage workplace Occupational Health and Safety.

The current OHS, Injury Management legislations are:–

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000
  • Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001
  • The Dangerous Goods Act 1975
  • Smoke-free Environment Act 2000
  • Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Act 2001
  • Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998
  • Workers Compensation Act 1987

Safety Procedures Australasia Pty Ltd can tailor an OHS Management System around your company requirements based from a standard generic system used.

In order to further clarify the scope of the OHS Management System requirements, it would be necessary to undertake an OHSMS Needs Analysis. The Needs Analysis will be undertaken with the relevant OHS members of the organisation and will review the following documentation (if available):–

  • Review of the current Management Systems for the organisation
  • Review of the injury Management Claims
  • Review of reported accidents⁄near misses
  • OHS Audit⁄Workplace Inspection Reports (if available)
  • OHS Committee⁄Staff Health and Safety meeting minutes

The types of information within the OHS Management System are detailed below:–

  • General OHS Management System information
